 The new label for jazz, classical and world music for established and new talent. A live feeling is the trademark and overall sound of Saphrane.
In the summer of 2005 Hans Peters, one of the owners of Music & Words, Gustavo Pazos, radiomaker NPS Radio and tour organiser, Laurens van der Heijden, booker and former radio maker, and Marc Broer and Willem Feenstra of Art Sound, decided to establish this new label. Gustavo Pazos and Laurens van der Heijden come across a lot of interesting musicians, due to the nature of their work. Art Sound has recorded many different artists for radion emissions and cd releases. And Music & Words is a well established record label in the Netherlands.
We decided to team up and to create this exciting new label, Saphrane. We expect it to be in full bloom ...
