• After winning the SAMA award two years in a row, the fame of Tutu Puoane is rising in her home country South Africa. A track of the Mama Africa is licensed onto a festival compilation.
• We were planning 1 or 2 albums with some spectacular gamelan music, but it seems the recordings have not gone well. We are trying to find a solution, but we think this will be no use unfortunately.

• We did it again! On Friday 20 May it was announced that Mama Africa won the South African Music Award 2011 for 'Best Traditional Jazz Album'. It is the second year in a row singer Tutu Puoane won this award, last year for the album Quiet Now, now for this project for which she was invited by the Brussels Jazz Orchestra. Well done!!

• On 28 May guitar duo Umbral will give their first concert in the Netherlands. The event will take place at the Tropentheater in Amsterdam and you can find all information about the concert, the purchase of tickets, etc. over here. • We did it again! The album Mama Africa by the Brussels Jazz Orchestra and Tutu Puoane has been nominated for a SAMA Award in the category 'best traditional jazz album'. All three albums by Tutu Puoane have been released in South Africa by Jassis. Thanks to their efforts we already won a SAMA Award in 2010 with Tutu Puoane's solo album Quiet Now. By the end of this month we will know, if we are to be a winner again. Fingers crossed.

• The cd The Island will be released on 2 May 2011. Romanian violinist and composer Alexander Balanescu and singer and composer Ada Milea turned the Robinson Crusoe story into a weird mini opera. Both Alexander and Ada sing the absurd lyrics and the Balanescu Quartet accompanies them in the proper way. An unusual release worthy to our label.
• Renato Borghetti had a succesfull tour in Europe and both the concerts and the new cd Andanças were reviewed enthusiastically.

• A few days before christmas master and sleeve design for the new Renato Borghetti cd were send to the pressing plant. The new album by the Brazilian diatonic accordionist was recorded live in Brussels, Belgium. This spring he and his quartet will be touring in Europe again and the cd will be released shortly before. The album called Andanças can be ordered at a special price of €17 until 31 January 2011! More details about shipping costs and payment methods on this page.
